 Impromptu Flying Events
An idea that we hatched, to increase the number of flying activities in 2007, is that of implementing a short notice system to alert members of impromptu flying events, like Breakfast flights to Port Alfred. These events will not replace the formally planned events, but will be in addition to them.
We have setup a Web based SMS system that will allow members to send an SMS to other interested members to inform them of an impromptu event. As an example, the ‘instigator' could log on to the SMS system on say a Friday afternoon or early evening and send a message to the group saying that they will be departing FAPE on Saturday morning at 8am for breakfast in Port Alfred and that interested parties should be there by 7:30am.
